Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand has launched a new adaptive collection that makes its line available to a wider range of body shapes and sizes.
The Adaptive Collection aims to address a gap in the accessibility market with each Skims piece, including bras and trunks with closures that sit at the front of the garment and body for convenience and ease of movement.
Skims also adds ultra-lightweight micro-bonding technology to the closures, designed to mold to the body rather than digging in to ensure the garment is not visible underneath, unlike strong zippers, heavy magnets and Velcro that stick to other fabrics.
To launch the adaptive collection, Skims partnered with U.S. Paralympic track and field athlete Scout Bassett, who said in a statement, “Hook-and-eye closures make wearing and styling so much easier for me when I try these super soft pieces.
“My goal is to create a fairer, more accessible world for everyone, so I love working with a brand that is constantly evolving and designing creative solutions in the same spirit.”
The initial Skims Adaptive Collection includes four of the brand’s signature styles, a bra, boyshort, thong and trunks, available in four unisex colors – clay, auburn, cocoa and onyx – in sizes XXS – 4X. Prices range from £18 for a thong to £32 for a bra.
