SS23 Bridal Trends: statement sleeves, high leg slits and more

After two years of modest or no weddings at all, brides-to-be are keen to walk down the red carpet in beautiful gowns in front of family and friends. New York and London held bridal fairs recently, and both places saw some similar trends. Perhaps influenced by Shondaland’s hit series Bridgerton and its Regency style, trends include statement sleeves, corsets and trains.

statement sleeves

Statement sleeves are one of the biggest trends of the season. At Morilee, sheer sleeves added an ethereal feel to a shoulderless maxi dress with a lace overlay. The strapless dress from Rebecca Schoneveld features optional balloon sleeves and high side slits. Mini balloon sleeves from Reem Acra made a statement on a demure Duchess satin gown.

Dresses with high slits on the legs are another trend that cannot be ignored this season. Rebecca Schoneveld showed a Chantilly lace gown with a front slit, translucent bodice, pockets and skirt. Anne Barge’s corset gown featured silk farro with a peek slit and a detachable bow-tie belt. Savannah Miller presented a modern high-shine satin column gown with diamond straps and deep side seams.
