Sportswear will be a hot trend in the Spring/Summer 23 menswear market. Here are ten strong looks from the European runways.
For the Spring/Summer 23 collection, designer Ruben Biss was inspired by marine elements, including sharks, surfboards and flippers. The 20th look included an oversized black sweatshirt with a silver insert and a pants/skirt combination.
Priya Ahluwalia’s chosen location was a leafy, sunken garden in the city of London. look 18 was a navy blue zip-up sweater and matching sweatpants with red, white and yellow diagonal stripes. The headpiece in the outfit was inspired by her dual Nigerian and Indian heritage.
Presented in Milan, the designer called the collection an “explorer” and was quoted as saying it blurred “the line between fact and fiction to mimic contemporary society.” Look 27 included a zip-up jacket and matching sweatpants in light green and light blue, contrasting with dark blue.

Designer Masayuki Ino exhibited in Paris. look 22 consisted of a hoodie with kangaroo pockets and matching sweatpants in what appeared to be a dimpled gray jersey, but was actually a print.
Returning to the runway after a big pop hiatus, Armani showed a variety of styles for the SS23 collection. look 61 included a blue zip-up jacket with white mesh inserts and matching sweatpants, all in technical fabrics.
The French designer offers a range of relaxed styles for SS23. In Look 3, Marant showed a blue zip-up jacket and matching tech pants, as well as a tie-dye logo T-shirt
Jonathan Anderson called his SS23 collection “a fusion of the organic and the artificial.” Look 4 A neon orange sweater with kangaroo pockets was paired with a silver sports jumpsuit and oversized orange sneakers
It was the first Louis Vuitton show without Virgil Abloh, but his legacy was palpable. The concept of the game was thematic, with the show featuring a marching band, flag wavers and a parody of a children’s train. look 15 was a two-piece off-road inspired suit in neon green, navy and white with leggings, socks and high top sneakers.
The London-based designer has collaborated with Nike on a new square-toed “Shox” sneaker. They include a teal zip-up jacket with navy and white lining and matching sweatpants in a size 26 look.
For the SS23 collection, Guram Gvasalia offered a digital presentation focused on “gender equality,” featuring male models in knee-high boots and crop tops. Among the sporty, color-blocked sweatshirts, the 20th look included a yellow zip-up jacket with white and black stripes, paired with sweatpants in a high-gloss technical fabric.
