Ugg releases carbon neutral impact collection

UGG has launched its second carbon neutral impact collection for Spring/Summer 2022 in keeping with its sustainability commitment to use better materials.

The California-based company also debuted sheepskins from farms that practice regenerative agriculture during the AW22 season.

The company said in a statement that the three styles are made from low-impact materials and have purchased offsets for the small amount of emissions they produce – making the materials carbon neutral. These are looped blends made from responsibly sourced wool certified to the Wool Standard and Tencel Lyser fibers from responsibly harvested trees. It has an outsole made from renewable sugar cane.

UGG says the company is “moving toward a more regenerative future, and materials are a key area where it can reduce its impact.” The brand is committed to integrating innovative, sustainable materials throughout its line, using capsule collections such as its Icon-Impact line to highlight these changes and to find better alternatives to traditionally used materials.
